    Students develop the love of music through many experiences such as: playing instruments, theory games, videos, music appreciation, written theory work, multicultural songs and attending musicals. They continue their performances during the year and beginning at this grade level they are able to participate in a yearly recital where they can show off their talents.

Through experiences in music, the students will be able to:

• sings a varied repertoire of music, alone and with others

• performs a varied repertoire of music on instruments, alone and with others

• improvises melodies

• composes music within given guidelines

• reads and notates music

• listens to, analyzes and describes music

• evaluates music performances

• understands music in relation to history and culture
