It is a pleasure to welcome you to UAS and Grade 2. My name is Rebecca Muino. I have recently moved to Uruguay after teaching many years in Australia from Kinder to Grade 7 and I am very excited to be a part of the UAS Community.

I will be working alongside Patricia Soto and we are looking forward to getting to know your child, encouraging their strengths and supporting them in areas of need to become lifelong learners. We have a very exciting year ahead with much to explore and learn!

The focus for literacy this quarter is on oral communication and your child will be required to present a short presentation each week to the class on different topics. This will be set as part of their homework and they will be given a presentation date. Please help your child by encouraging them to present their work to family and friends – practise makes perfect!

Your child will be having PE on Mondays and Wednesdays. On these days they should come to school in their PE uniform which can be bought at Nario’s, on Avenida Italia (near the corner of Bolonia). A detailed schedule with all Grade 2 activities is attached.

I believe that it is important for us to work together as part of your child’s team and encourage open communication. If you have any concerns or information about your child that you would like to share with me please arrange an appointment by phone, email or a message in the homework book. I am available school days from 12.30 – 1.00pm and most days after school from 3.40 – 4.00pm.
