Dear Families,

Grade 5 class photo

My name is Sloane Schubert, and I teach 5th grade here at U.A.S. This is my family’s first year in beautiful Uruguay. Formerly, Washington State was our home where I taught for 14 years as a 7th grade and kindergarten teacher. I grew up in California where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and my Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Health Education from San Diego State University. Since then, I have earned my teaching certificate at Central Washington University and additional endorsements in Special Education and Teaching English as a Second Language.

Most of my favorite pastimes occur outdoors. At the beach, I enjoy digging tunnels with my four-year so we can drive cars through them. Bodysurfing and somersaulting in the waves are also much loved activities for me as are mountain biking, skiing, hiking and reading on the porch. But of course, when it comes to employment opportunities, of all of the jobs in the world, I believe teaching is the best!

Sincerely,
Sloane Schubert
