Expected Language Outcomes

In the reading/writing area, the children should be able to do the following:

• Follow directions of objects in space
• Follow left to right progression
• Follow top to bottom hand-eye movement
• Begin to follow a pattern or sequence of objects
• Demonstrate comprehension by retelling stories
• Self-select books
• Start using drawing to convey meaning
• Recognizes and differentiates different sounds

In the listening speaking areas, they should be able to do the following:

• Build general vocabulary
• Demonstrate understanding of spoken English
• Expand personal vocabulary
• Expand and enriches their sentences
