Our committee works with the Animales Sin Hogar specifically. This is a private non-for-profit organization which takes in stray animals, rehabilitates them, and then tries to give them a home. There is no physical shelter; it's individuals who are willing to help shelter animals in their homes.
With help from monthly contributors, veterinarians, and a lot of good will, Animales Sin Hogar has managed to find homes for hundreds of animals. Today, the organization also focuses on promoting awareness, instructing people on proper pet care. Our projects this year have included a dog-bowl drive during the summer and the approaching selling T-shirts to raise funds for the shelter and aid them in buying winter supplies.
