If you require one teacher recommendation letter, then ask one teacher. If the colleges that you are applying to require two letters, then you can request two. If you do not require a teacher recommendation letter for university, then you are not allowed to ask for one.
The UAS College Counselor always writes a recommendation letter for students applying to the United States and will write for any student applying to other colleges around the world when required or recommended.
Most recommendations can be sent via the BridgeU document sending method. This includes sending documents via a method called “parchment”. Mr Taskin does this. If a college has a system whereby a teacher recommender fills in a recommendation form online or sends the recommendation directly to the college, inform your recommender in advance that that will happen.
Please follow the guidelines for requesting a teacher a letter of recommendation.
Step 1) Ask your teacher if they will write a letter for you
Step 2) Give your teacher enough advance notice (3 weeks) to write for you.
Step 3) Make the request on BridgeU (click on recommendations+my progress+new recommendation)
Step 4) On BridgeU, type in the teacher’s name, their email, and a note. Make sure to include the date that you need the letter!
Step 5) Students must fill in a teacher recommendation questionnaire (Google Doc) and attach it to their request on BridgeU in order for a teacher to write for them.
Step 6) Click Send Now and save.
IMPT: do not request any teacher or counselor recommendations on Common App (you do that through BridgeU, the teachers upload it to BridgeU and Mr. Taskin sends that, his letter, and all your school documents via BridgeU) The university then receives everything and Mr Taskin gets confirmation of that. The student will also check their college portal frequently to ensure all documents are received.
